For some reason when people first meet each other they usually ask “what do you do?” as that’s supposed to be a definition of their existence. If you asked my public relations agency they would answer “Chris Drake is the founder and CEO of FireHost, a secure managed hosting company.” But while that’s true, the truth is that I’m a lot of things.

Here’s some highlights:

• Married to a beautiful, smart, loving and supportive wife
• Continually trying to strengthen my faith
• Humbled to work with an incredible group of people
• Growing FireHost and developing new ways to protect our customers
• Enjoy playing golf, racing R/C cars, and competing in poker tournaments
• Wishing I could still play rugby

Ever since I can remember I’ve been super competitive and extremely passionate. To be a friend of mine growing up you had to be willing to go toe-to-toe with everything from playing wiffle ball, trading sports cards to shooting hot sauce. If you were on my team you had to be willing to commit your entire soul to what challenge was in front of our face. Everything I touch is important and if it’s not – I don’t do it. This mindset still exists with me today – it’s just now I’m not shooting hot sauce.
